Laura Quinn

Laura loved to dance from an early age and after joining the Royal Ballet School as a Junior Associate she began performing professionally at nine years old in Birmingham Royal Ballet's production of 'The Nutcracker'.
As a student Laura continued to dance with Birmingham Royal Ballet and English National Ballet in numerous productions.

Laura gained a place at Elmhurst School for Dance where she trained in Classical Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Contemporary, Flamenco and Irish dance styles. Whilst at the school, Laura was also awarded Distinction for her RAD Advanced 2 examination.

On completion of her vocational training, she went on to join Dortmund Ballet in Germany and subsequently Vanemuine Ballet in Estonia in 2008. Whilst pursuing her professional career, Laura continued her academic studies and gained First Class Honours in her BA in Dance. She also gained her Professional Dancer's Teaching Diploma with the Royal Academy of Dance alongside Prima Dance Academy Principal Hayley Macri.After 2 years of teaching, Laura was invited back to Vanemuine Ballet as a Soloist. She continued to dance with the company for a further 6 years performing soloist and principal roles, most recently as the White/Black Swan in Petr Zuska's production of 'Swan Lake'.

POPPY BARNES

Originally from Northumberland, Poppy started her Classical Ballet training at a young age, studying all RAD graded and vocational exams up to Advanced 2 level. She continued her training at the Royal Academy of Dance on the Ballet Education Degree programme in London. This gave her the opportunity to train in a wide variety of teaching settings, including with multiple private ballet schools, and professional community platforms. Alongside this, Poppy achieved the Licentiate of the RAD qualification with distinction, providing her with detailed knowledge of the RAD syllabi and ballet teaching.

She has continued her studies, gaining a MFA in Dance and Embodied Practice at the University of Roehampton in 2023.

 

Poppy works as a freelance Dance Artist and Teacher in London. She has had the pleasure of working with organisations including One Dance UK, New Adventures (Overture Cohort), and Amici Dance Theatre Company.

HAYLEY MACRI

Hayley trained along side Tanya Pearson at the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD). She received Distinction in RAD Advanced 2 qualifying her as a finalist for the RAD International Genee competition. Hayley also trained at the Heinz-Bosl Stiftung Munich, Germany. Whilst studying, Hayley performed with the English National Ballet, dancing Swan Lake in the Royal Albert Hall.

 

Hayley went on to start her first contract with the Main Franken Theatre Würzburg, then went on to the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf.

Throughout Hayley's career, she has worked with choreographers such as Youri Vamos, Matz Ek, Hans Van Manen, Jiri Kylian, Nils Christe, Ricardo Fernando and Anna Vita. Hayley has also danced a range of roles as a group dancer and a soloist in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Romeo & Juliet, Giselle, Firebird and Sleeping Beauty.

 

Hayley then continued her education with a Professional Dancers Teachers Diploma at the world-renowned Royal Academy of Dance in London and qualified with her Registered Teachers Status.

 

Alongside PRIMA Dance Academy Hayley teaches at the RAD, and Professional Dance School London Studio Centre. Hayley also has a level 2 qualification in Fitness.
